about

Mental Gymnastics was a band from Guilford, Connecticut. From 1986 to 1989, they played at clubs and colleges across New England, including the Grotto and Toad's Place in New Haven, and opening for bands like The Reducers, Miracle Legion, Lyres, Scruffy the Cat, and 10,000 Maniacs.

After recording songs for a full-length album at Fort Apache Studios with Paul Q. Kolderie and producer Mr. Ray Neal (Miracle Legion), the band broke up (as bands do), the master tapes were put on a shelf, and the record was never released.

Now, more than thirty years later, the 1989 Fort Apache recordings have been recovered, mixed, and released as the (very) long-awaited debut album, Time Capsule.
